Things are going well, now that the upgraded e107 to v0.7.22. I believe the older version I was operating had some sort of security loophole that caused my site to be deleted twice in a short span of time. So far I have yet to see any problems that could take the site down again, which is good news.
As for the update, I have started migrating all the past posts from The 6th Floor, dating back to January 30, 1999 over to my Wordpress site. Once this is complete I will move that database back over to IPOWER since I can install Wordpress and configure it.
To date I have copied, read, tagged and categorized 442 articles most gaming related, including Action Quake 2, which is the arena I got started in when I was new to managing a website. While many of the links are now broken, I still maintain a good amount of the data and files from posts in the past. Not sure I will activate those links or make those files available.
I like the fact I can quickly add and remove a category or add a tag to a story. It's great to see the flexibility I have with Wordpress. Now my only concern is being able to personalize the theme I use to fit The 6th Floor. I still like my choice of colors and layout that was brought to life by Per 'Ellusion' Nyhaug back in 2000. With any luck I can get most of the news moved over by the end of the month and start troubleshooting links and the layout. Until that time I will continue to update here.
