NAQP: Update

As a single operator I must take a total of 2 hours out of the 12 hours of the contest off, so at 4pm PDT I started my two hour break. Unfortunately I am down 52 QSOs from the NAQP contest in February. 15M has been terrible, a total of 5 QSOs.

20M continues to dominate with 129 QSOs and 49 mults. Oddly enough 49 was how many mults I had in February, but I had an additional 36 QSOs at this point in time. So I am frustrated right now. I was never able to establish a good run on 20M. There were also too many 5+ minute periods of inactivity, either calling CQ, attempting to run or S&P.

We will see what 40 and 80M holds. If things hold up, 20M could be open late, but I am fairly good on mults there, so it will be working the low bands for the important mults. If I cannot hit my QSO goal, maybe I can make it up (somewhat) in mults. I'll be back on in about 2 hours (5pm PDT) to knock out my next five hours.

NAQP Today! Live & Streaming

The NCJ NAQP Contest begins in just a few hours. I have been for about 3 hours working on my setup and configuration for the contest. Laid down a few long, 60' radials for 80M later tonight and was able to make 7 QSOs in the DMC RTTY Contest, surprisingly three were from EU!

The 6th HamCAM is now live and streaming, not that it's all that exciting to hear diddles and watch as I make hundreds of QSOs, as I look to best my February score of just over 46,000 points. Regardless I am looking forward to an enjoyable RTTY contest.
